  • Commitment and Preparation

    Ensure you are prepared to care for a pet. Adoption is a long-term commitment.

  • Habitat Environment

    Provide a safe and comfortable environment. Adequate space according to the animal's needs.

  • Reflection Period

    Take the necessary time to get to know the animal. Make sure it is the right choice.

  • Initial Expenses

    Prepare for initial care expenses. Vaccines, food, and necessary accessories.

  • Follow-up after adoption

    If the person giving the animal asks for follow-up, you agree it between you and they carry it out. Patitas gives you the tools: messages and appointments.

What you can check

  • Who hands over the animalWhether the shelter is in the register of associations and holds a zoological registration (REGA code).
  • Microchip and vaccinesWhether the chip number is valid, where to look it up and whether the vaccination dates add up.
  • PaymentWhether the IBAN is valid, which country it belongs to and whether you are asked to pay before seeing the animal.
