Which cookies and local storage the site uses, what for, and how to change your choice.

This is a translation. The Spanish version is the binding one; in case of discrepancy, the interpretation most favourable to the consumer prevails.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Technical cookies are needed for the site to work and do not require your consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used and are only set if you accept them.

Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics, which is loaded through Google Tag Manager only after you press “Accept” in the cookie notice. If you do not accept, neither is loaded. Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area, as explained in the Privacy policy; more information in Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

If you use “Sign in with Google”, sign-in takes place on Google’s page, which uses its own cookies under its own policy.

3. Browser local storage

Besides cookies, the site keeps some data in your browser’s local storage (localStorage and sessionStorage). It stays on your device and is not sent to our server:

  • cookie_consent: your choice about analytics cookies. It is kept until you change it or clear your browser data.
  • guest_favorites: the animals you save as favourites without being signed in.
  • quiz_last_answers: your latest answers to the compatibility quiz, so you do not have to repeat them.
  • In PatitasID, only if you choose a country or dismiss the country suggestion: that preference.
  • Technical data for the tab (sessionStorage), such as the page to return to after verifying your identity. It is deleted when you close the tab.

4. How to change your choice

You can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page, or here: . If you withdraw consent, analytics stops loading and we delete the _ga cookies of this site that we can reach. You can also delete cookies from your browser settings.

5. Changes to this policy

If we change the cookies we use, we will update this policy and its date.
