Beta version. What you can expect from Patitas en Casa and PatitasID, and what you cannot.

Version 1.0-beta · In force since 28/09/2026

This is a translation. The Spanish version is the binding one; in case of discrepancy, the interpretation most favourable to the consumer prevails.

1. What PatitasID is

PatitasID is a section of Patitas en Casa that you can use without registering to check data before adopting or buying an animal, or before paying. It reviews the format and consistency of what you have been given (for example, a microchip number, an IBAN, a CIF or a NIF) against published rules and, where the check is available, automatically queries public registers and other open sources.

Each result only shows what the source returned or what the applied rule says, with the name of the source and the date of its data. Our obligation is one of means, not of result: we try to carry out the query, but we do not guarantee that what is found is true, complete or up to date. How each check works is explained in the PatitasID methodology (opens in a new tab).

2. What the result is not

The result is not a certificate, a recommendation, an assessment of a person or organisation, or legal, veterinary or financial advice.

“Could not be confirmed” or “does not appear in the source” only mean that the source returned no data, and no conclusion about the person or organisation can be drawn from them. We do not give scores, keep blacklists or judge anyone’s honesty.

3. Third-party sources

Registers and other sources are run by third parties and public bodies. They may be incomplete, out of date or unavailable, and we cannot correct them. The list of sources, with their body, licence and data date, is in Sources and licences (opens in a new tab).

4. Other people’s data

Some data you enter may relate to another person, such as a seller’s IBAN. Enter it only for a legitimate purpose: checking a transaction you are part of. Do not use PatitasID to find out anyone’s data or to monitor anyone.

What you type in a check is not stored. How we handle that data is explained in the PatitasID tab of the Privacy policy.

5. Corrections

If a check relates to you or your organisation and you believe it does not reflect reality, ask for a correction (opens in a new tab). We reply within 48 hours.

6. Liability

Sections 3 (beta version), 5 (your responsibilities), 9 (limitation of liability) and 10 (limits set by law) of the General tab also apply to PatitasID.
