How to check an animal’s microchip

A microchip number has a structure that can be checked instantly. Official services, not us, say whom it belongs to.
  1. 1. The structure

An ISO chip has 15 digits. The first three give a country or a manufacturer.

  2. 2. The number on paper and in the animal

Ask the vet to read the chip and compare that number with the passport or card.

  3. 3. The official service

Searches by number are run by official services on their own sites. We send your number nowhere.

Coming after the legal review

  • Look the microchip up in the official serviceAvailable after legal review

Asking is not distrusting. An organisation that looks after its animals well usually answers this in a minute, and sometimes appreciates it.
