Before paying: IBAN, holder and fee

Before ordering a payment you can check that the IBAN is well formed, which country it is from and whether the holder matches the organisation.
  1. 1. The IBAN

The length and check digits catch copying mistakes. The account country is a fact you can compare with the organisation’s.

  2. 2. The holder

If the account is not in the organisation’s name, ask why. There may be an explanation.

  3. 3. The receipt

Always ask for a receipt or invoice in the organisation’s name, with its tax ID, and a written contract.

Asking is not distrusting. An organisation that looks after its animals well usually answers this in a minute, and sometimes appreciates it.
